Thanks for joining the forums. For the most part, we like to keep things pretty relaxed around here. There are a few rules that you should be aware of though, and we reserve the right to add more as we think of them! For your convenience, I've divided them up into two sections.
Common Sense Forum Rules:
These are the rules you should automatically know, things like:
1. Keep your threads in the relevant sections, and your posts relevant to the thread. All links in posts should be relevant to the content in the thread.
2. Don't post anything sexually explicit, discriminating, disgusting, excessively profane, etc. This includes pictures and text.
3. Don't link to anything that contains pornography or illegal content.
4. Don't say anything positive about the PS3.
5. Don't impersonate other users.
6. Staff decisions are law. Arguing will get you nowhere but banned.
(Okay one of these might not be a real rule. Again, common sense people)
Additional TVGB Forum Rules:
These are rules that might not be so common sense, but are our rules anyways so deal with it, like:
1. You can put whatever you'd like in your signature, just keep it looking clean. Got a website or a product? Feel free to link to it. Images should be smaller than about 350x200, and don't use an excessive amount of text.
That's all for now, but more will be coming soon!

I'm thinking about doing a server transfer, hoping to find one that might be more active during the evening hours west coast time.
If anyone has any suggestions, or if you play yourself and have a good group of people, let me know!

So, we don't have an Xbox One section yet! This topic will be in regards to opinions of this year's E3. How did you guys think Microsoft did? Did they live up to your standards? Did they deliver? How do you feel about the 499 price tag on the Xbox One as well?

"... more and more people are moving away from the television" (speaking about playing video games)
I think that is 100% pure bull shit. You can't tell me that any gamer at all, even casual gamers, are moving away from gaming on their TV due to iOS and Android devices. I believe what people are seeing is simply an increase in mobile gaming, because people who would have NEVER typically played any kind of game (like my grandma) are now playing Angry Birds, or something similar. If any devices were going to be at risk of seeing a decline because of mobile gaming, it would be other mobile gaming devices like the 3DS or the Vita.
I don't believe we live in a world where a tablet replaces a console, and I don't believe we'll see that world at least in the next 10 years, as consoles continue to innovate themselves as well. I do believe we live in a world where people have limited spending money, and might have to forego purchasing a few different video games to get that tablet. Not because the tablet is a better gaming device, but because they definitely make your life easier (speaking from experience here).
That being said, the OUYA Android TV gaming device, in my opinion, might make a good supplement to a console for people wanting to bring their mobile games to their TV, but I don't think it's the 'answer' to a 'problem' that doesn't exist. Anyone putting their heart in sole into this thinking it's the future of gaming is going to be disappointed.

I personally am excited for Final Fantasy Versus XIII, especially since its confirmed not to be canceled. What about you all?

This is the comment I'd typed up:
Its tough to believe a game in such high demand will not be remade. Look at Zone of the Enders. It didn't sell amazing numbers, but a third game is in development now after so many people petitioned for it. Granted, I understand the money side, but there are other ways to get that taken care of. Kickstarter for example. Others have gotten millions of IDEAS. Imagine what a proven company can earn.
I'd like to hear peoples thoughts on this.

No, and why would any gamer want to make the switch? People play Angry Birds when they've got nothing else to do. Ouya will be in the home, where all of my gaming systems are. It's really not a tough decision, £99 to play a game that costs pence on my phone (I admit there will be other games, but no other mobile game has got such a big storm about it), or continue playing the AAA games I've come to know and love on my existing consoles, the next generation consoles to be released over the next few years AND my recent entry into the world of serious PC gaming

In my opinion, this guy doesn't know the difference between classic characters and characters that have a long lasting face value. Classic characters are the ones that have been "retired", that can be brought up in videogame conversations for nostalgia purposes and characters with a long lasting face value can be used over and over again because no matter how old they are, they are still fun as hell to play. Take Mario for example, dude has been running circles around the videogame world for decades and the reason for this is simple. HIS GAMES ARE FUN AS HELL TO PLAY! Same thing goes for Link. HIS GAMES ARE FUN AS SHIT TO PLAY! Plus, Nintendo doesn't just stick to the same old style of play for all their characters, they adapt to the times.
There are a few videogame characters on my list that really should be retired...and when I say retired I mean put in a coffin, have a nice funeral service, buried and then dump concrete over their grave for good measure. Dynasty Warriors as a whole should be retired (Not exactly sure if they are actually retired right now), I personally never liked their games and they're all exactly the same. Master Chief should be retired BUT not until he's in a few more Halo games because he seems like the kind of character they would suck the life and bone marrow out of to make $10. Sonic just needs to take a dirt nap and stay there, his games were great in the 1990's and early 2000's, but now his games are just plain awful and now he needs to be put down. Duke Nukem...this dude is my #1. Three words are all I need to explain why he is #1...Duke Nukem Forever.
The only thing this guy's article was right about, was that some videogame characters should just lay down, but he just came across as a huge Nintendo hater. Haters gonna hate, Nintendo gonna make stupid money.
